You Asked Us!

Is Your Tea Room Wheelchair Accessible?

We are located in a heritage building that is not wheelchair accessible. There are two small steps at the entrance to the building, which we can remedy with a portable ramp. However, the washrooms are located in the basement of the building.

We are offering a gluten-free “high tea” prepared with gluten-free ingredients for guests who want to reduce their consumption of gluten, not suitable for people with severe allergies or intolerances due to risks of cross-contamination in our kitchen.

Each tea time platter consists of 12 sweet and savory bites. However, due to the variety of ingredients and the manual preparation of each platter, there is an inherent risk of cross-contamination between products.

While we take every precaution to minimize this risk, we cannot guarantee the absence of traces of allergens in our creations. The following allergens are present in our bites:

  • eggs
  • soy
  • nuts
  • sesame
  • onions and the allium family
  • spices
  • sulfites

It is essential that we are informed of this BEFORE YOUR VISIT, so that we can provide you with the necessary information in advance for your safety.

Our vegan menu does not contain any dairy products and is suitable for people with lactose intolerance.

We offer an all-vegan platter upon reservation 24 hours in advance. Please note that this option contains several nuts and is not suitable for allergy sufferers (pecans, walnuts, cashews, pistachios).

We have a menu of cocktails, wines, beers, and bubbles to add to the party!

We do not accept private groups. We can accommodate groups of 12 to 14 people maximum. Please contact [email protected] for reservations of more than 8 people.

We love little ones! Be sure to mention the presence of a little treasure when making your reservation, as well as its age, so that we can prepare for your arrival (high chair, children’s menu, stroller area…).

There is no free parking in Old Montreal. It’s not easy to find parking on the surrounding streets, but several outdoor public parking lots are available just around the corner. The Embassy Suite hotel’s indoor parking lot around the corner is also a good option.

Paparmane only offers the full high tea experience including a 3 tier platter per person.

The Food Safety and Public Health Act prevents animals from entering areas where food is prepared or served, with the exception of assistance animals (such as guide dogs for the visually impaired).

To highlight your special occasions, our pastry chefs have prepared a surprise for the person being celebrated. Please let us know, when booking, of the event you will be highlighting during your visit.

We do not encourage you to bring a birthday cake, as the individual platter already includes between 4 and 5 sweet bites. However, if you still wish to bring a cake, please note that there will be a charge of $4 per person to handle the presentation, cutting and service to each guest.

Given the limited space in our tea room, we cannot provide space for a gift table.

Our tables are already quite full, which does not allow for the addition of a bouquet of flowers or balloons.

While there is no mandatory dress code and everyone is welcome for tea time at Paparmane, we recommend a “smart casual” outfit for a touch of elegance while remaining comfortable.

If you feel like it, tea time is also the perfect opportunity to wear your elegant hat or fascinator to make your experience even more festive. A mimosa will be offered to accompany your tea time when wearing one of these items.

The trays are designed for one person, each person receives a full tray for their “tea time”.

Tables are booked every 2 hours, we allow approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes for your TEA TIME experience. The tea room closes its doors about 2 hours after the last service.

Parking can be tricky in Old Montreal depending on the day or time of your visit. Several paid parking lots (indoor and outdoor) are available in the surrounding area.

The Place d’Armes and Square Victoria metro stations are within walking distance.

In order to preserve the magic of the tea room and promote a moment of escape, we do not allow laptop computers during service.
